YO HO! YO HO!

A pirates life for me!
Today was Pirate day at preschool. I "forgot" my pirate costume, but Miss Karen had an eye patch waiting and ready- so that was my costume. I pushed it up onto my forehead- it is not easy seeing with an eye patch on! The kids had a blast being pirates for the day. One project involved a map. They had to draw the classroom and mark where they thought the treasure was hidden. Jayce loved this part. He drew a room marked with a letter "P" and the lines showing where to walk and then the "X"- which marks the spot. When Miss Karen asked what the "P" stood for, He said "That's where we pee."- Smart for a pirate!
Because of Pirates Day- I will be avoiding my favorite Diet Coke stop for awhile- Miss Karen had the responsibility of reminding me to remove the eye patch before I left school! VERY FUNNY MISS KAREN!

The Vacation!

Jayce has been begging to go to Disneyland- so we finally made the trip!
Baylie REFUSES to miss school (shes weird) so we had to plan according to school breaks. We left Jan. 15 and returned Jan. 19- Fast And Fun!
Day One- we leave AFTER school- drive to St. George and have dinner with Ross's parents- thanks for the soup and salad! SO YUMMY! Then its off to Vegas! (A quick stop in Mesquite so I can throw-up the soup and salad- will I ever grow out of the car sickness?)
We stayed at Excalibur for the night.
Day Two- we saw the sights near the hotel- no time to see them all. M&M world- Coke World and the statue of liberty! Then on to Buena Park CA. We arrived early enough to hit Disneyland for a few hours. Jayce only wants to see TOON TOWN. The girls go to ride some rides, but its only an hour before they are arguing with each other and want to leave! We make them play in Toon Town with us!
Day Three- California Adventure part day. Straight to the Tower of Terror. I had no idea what I was getting into. I DO NOT like to fall. Hate it! Hated the ride! My family is MEAN and I spend the rest of the day safely on the ground at Brother Bear play land and Toon Town, Thanks Jayce for saving me!!
Day Four- We hit Disneyland for a few final hours but we are all tired and our feet hurt- and although I begged for a stroller, Captain Fowlks refused so carrying the 40 Lb Jayce around -(Captain did his fair share of carrying too!)- we are POOPED!
We went to the Jedi Training! SOOO COOL! and Jayce, Baylie, and Kelcey all built their own light sabers. We spent some time that night in the hot tub and watching movies!
Day Five- We really want the kids to see the ocean so we drive down to Huntington Beach to play! They loved it! Baylie begged to go surfing- so we said- "if you want to miss school tomorrow we can stay an extra day and surf" No go! We are heading home!
Its a dang long drive! But we had three drivers and we all take turns sleeping- driving- sleeping.
Its good to be home- but its so quiet! Kerryne and the kids moved to Califonia while we were away. We miss them- badly- but we are so happy that they are staying in the country. We will make that dang long drive to Oceanside- SOON!

spider spy-bot, please fess up!
Honestly! The spy-bot climbs the walls during the night- looking like a spider and SPYING on Jayce. Sometimes it looks like an octopus- just creepy! And Jayces mom would like to sleep for longer than a few minutes at a time!
So please- call off the spy-bot!
In fact, We could work out a deal!
I have an 18 year old daughter that is dating a really cute 23 year old boy- I could pay you good money to spy on them!!

My first Husband...

was this skinny little dude with a cheesy 'stache!
All Kidding aside-
Ross and I have been married for 23 years.
We met when I was a Senior in High School and he was just preparing to turn in his mission papers. We dated for four months before he left. He served in the Missouri, Independence Mission and when he returned we dated for 4 more months before the big wedding day!
While your laughing at our photo- remember this was 1986- remember the eighties? Big hair- BIG POOF BALLS on your veils!?!- I have no idea what I was thinking!
Thank You Ross for being my best friend.
Happy Anniversary to us!

Lessons from 2008

5 things I learned in 2008

1) It is better to be poor and wise than rich and foolish.

Teacher- the Bible. I finally read the Old and New Testament. This seems like good advise. I am all over the POOR- ALL OVER IT! and so I am working on the WISE!

2) A foolish man has much to say, and a wise man says little.

Teacher- once again the Bible! Note to self....... STOP TALKING!!!

3) If your "Leg Sleeves" are too long- just tuck them into your shoes!

Teacher- Jayce. I have not personally tried this, but I am keeping it in mind. you never know when you might run into problems with your leg sleeves.

4) My car has EYELASHES- or wind whippers, or wash winders or wind wipers or - whatever- just call them eyelashes!

Teacher- Jayce. He is one smart kid!

5) Don't eat the crunchy ones!

Teacher- my niece Pajha, who is an avid nose picker. But she is picky about what she eats and the hard ones wont do! Shes only putting the soft ones in her mouth! Great advise but I think I will pass!

I tag YOU!
